Why doesn’t your Super Duty kit come with the 52480?
Super cab, standard cab and Excursions do not require this kit. It’s an optional upgrade recommended for 2 piece drive shafts only.
Would the 52420 work with your 8 ½" Super Duty kit?
Yes. Be sure to order the additional corresponding front shocks for optimal performance. For the best performance we recommend our MX6 shocks.
How will the kit affect the ride?
It depends on the vehicle and the customer’s preferences. Most straight axle lifts with leaf springs or coil springs will typically ride firmer than stock. Firmer spring rates are required as height increases to lessen body roll and provide stability. More lift equals a firmer ride. Trucks with independent front suspension will normally ride, as well as, or better than stock
If I put the kit on, can it go back to stock?
It depends on the vehicles suspension type. All GM independent front suspension lift applications require cutting of the lower differential mount and bump and extension stops and would require considerable work to return to stock. The 02-05 Dodge 1500 and 96-04 Tacoma kits also require cutting that would not allow a graceful return to stock. Jeeps, 73-91 GM straight axle trucks, Ford Super Duty’s, 94-01 Dodge 1500 and 94-04 Dodge 2500/3500 can be returned to stock.
What is the vibration at low speeds on the Super Duty?
A combination of axle wrap and carrier bearing distortion can be the cause of the launch vibration that is common with stock and lifted Ford F250/F350 trucks.
Traction bars and a balanced driveshaft are two ways to help alleviate the vibration.
What tire and rim can be put on my truck?
See Pro Comp tire size guide.
Are the MX6 shocks really made to be mounted upside down?
We recommend the shock be mounted body up but it can be mounted either way. The MX6 shocks are a mono-tube design; the operating part of the shock is moving up and down in a single tube. Should the tube be dented or damaged, the shock will not function and will require replacement. By mounting the shock upside down the body or tube is tucked out of harms way.
Can I install the kit myself?
We recommend installation be performed by a qualified mechanic. Most kits require above average mechanical skills with an emphasis in suspension experience and the ability to fabricate when necessary.

My add-a-leaf is too long but the right part number. Can I trim it to fit?

Do I need to get the trucks’ alignment checked after installing the kit?
Yes. The alignment should be checked before and after the installation. Checking the alignment before the installation will tell you if the vehicle may require additional parts or attention so it can be properly aligned after the lift is installed.

What size lift do I need for a given tire size?
Please see the tire size guide for more information.
Why has the ride height of my leaf sprung vehicle changed after installation?
It is common for some leaf spring applications (especially Ford Super Duty) to settle 0.5 to 1.0 inch within the first 500-1000 miles of use. Typically our leaf springs will provide more lift than specified and if settling occurs it is within service specifications. These service limits are easily determined if a stock ride height measurement (center of wheel hub – straight up to fender) is taken prior to lift installation and measured again after the lift is installed .
What other modifications will be required if I lift my truck?
This depends on what vehicle and kit you have.
Will too much air pressure affect my ride?
Yes. Your vehicle will wander and ride too stiff. Contact pro Comp Tire and Wheel for more tire information. www.procomptires.com
Why is the size of rims /wheels so important?
These components affect the ride quality, wear and tear on your suspension components.
What’s all the extra hardware in the shock box for and how do I install them?
